Schaumburg Flyers - baseball in Schaumburg IL
The Schaumburg Flyers are a minor league baseball team based in Schaumburg, Illinois. They are not affiliated with any Major League Baseball team. Members of the independent Northern League, the Flyers became the Village of Schaumburg’s first professional sports franchise in 1999.
Home for the baseball team is Alexian Field, 1999 Springinsguth Road Schaumburg, IL 60193. Formerly known as Schaumburg Baseball Stadium, Alexian field is conveniently located off the Elgin-O'Hare Expressway.
The Schaumburg Flyers are active in the community; one of their noted contributions is the sponsorship of a four week reading club called Bearon's Reading Club. Students are encouraged to read; each book completed represents a base. Upon completion of 4 "bases" students are rewarded with a ticket to a Schaumburg Flyer's home game.
