Prairie Arts Festival
Talented artists from around the country will display and sell their original work at the 21st annual Prairie Arts Festival. The festival will be held May 24 and 25 on the grounds of the Robert O. Atcher Municipal Center from 10 am to 5 pm each day.
Distinctive clothing, glass, jewelry, paintings, photography, pottery, and sculpture are featured at this juried exhibition and sale that includes approximately 155 jewelers, painters, photographers, and sculptors throughout the U.S and Canada.

Fahrrad Tour von Schaumburg Bike Ride & Picnic

Event Sponsors are Schaumburg Park District (847.985.2115) and the Village of
Schaumburg (847.923.3862).
Celebrate Schaumburg’s German heritage, explore village neighborhoods, and
join Village President Al Larson with a one-hour tour on bike routes and bike
paths through Schaumburg. The entire family will enjoy this event which begins
at Blackwell Elementary School, 345 N. Walnut Lane, at noon. At the end of the
tour, at the Robert Atcher Municipal Center, 101 Schaumburg Court, participants
will be treated to free bratwurst, hot dogs, chips, and beverages.
Entertainment will be provided in the plaza area overlooking the pond and
municipal center grounds. For those choosing not to ride their bikes back to their
homes, bus transportation for participants and their bikes will be provided from
the municipal center plaza back to Blackwell Elementary school starting at 1:45
pm. A limited supply of t-shirts (adult and child size) will be available for purchase
for $12.
No pre-registration is required. All participants must sign a liability waiver prior to
departure.

The big band sound remains as fresh and hip as it is sentimental in the hands of
the swingin’est league of musicians under one roof when they crank out one hit
after another made legendary by Jimmy Dorsey. Bandleader Bill Tole (an
accomplished trombonist in his own right) presents Dorsey standards like
“Amapola,” “Green Eyes,” “So Rare,” and other classics from a time when swing
was king.
